ABOUT JAMIE

family lemon tree.jpg

Jamie was a first grade teacher and certified reading specialist in Western Massachusetts for ten years. After her husband was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015, she took time away from her classroom to be home with her family, teach preschool part-time, and pursue a writing career.

Jamie lives in Connecticut with her two children and is forever grateful for the love, support, and encouragement her husband, Ricky, gave her before he lost his battle with brain cancer in 2020. There is a special author's note in both WHEN GRANDMA GIVES YOU A LEMON TREE and WHEN GRANDPA GIVES YOU A TOOLBOX honoring Ricky and many others who have inspired Jamie and her family along the way.

Jamie is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and Julie Hedlund's 12X12 Picture Book Challenge. She is represented by Linda Camacho at Gallt & Zacker Agency.

All of Jamie's books are available for purchase through independent bookshops, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other locations books are sold. To learn more about each of Jamie's picture books, please visit the "Books" page of this website.
